Every morning, I wake up, grab my favorite latte and go on a brisk walk. I am starting to incorporate more fitness and exercise into my morning, but more on that later. Oh yeah, and meditation. I sit still and meditate by closing my eyes, sitting in stillness, and breathing in and out. Next, I have this new thing where I plan out my day. I know planning out your day isn’t new but if you had a rough few months like me, then you were happy to roll out of bed, splash water on your face and take a warm shower. Tadaaaa. I did it!
By having my new routine, it helps me to track my days as they tend to run together. Now, let’s get into finances. Yeah, that cringy word that should not be so cringy. But let’s face it, bills can be scary.
Through my money healing journey, I ran across Financial Self-Care. I am enjoying reading everything about it on Dow Janes. Here are a few tips and tricks to help.
Shift your money mindset: Start by identifying your financial motivations and setting realistic goals for yourself.
Create a weekly financial self-care routine: For me, I’ve picked 1-2 days out the week. This can be as simple as checking your bank accounts, reviewing bill due dates and payments, and reviewing your financial goals for the week.
Develop a financial strategy: This can include creating a budget, paying off debt, and saving for the future.
Pay yourself first: Set aside a portion of your income for savings before paying bills or other expenses.
Know when to ask for help: If you are like me, then you may have felt you can do it all yourself. Well, that’s not always the case. Don’t hesitate to seek professional help if you need it.
Remember, practicing good money habits consistently is key to achieving financial freedom and long-term financial wellness. Don’t worry if you make mistakes. You can bounce back. You got this! I am routing for you!
